I love PC Financial! I've had their free chequing account for over 3 years now, and I'll never go back. I have no need for teller services, so I can't justify banking with a "traditional" bank and paying monthly service charges. No charges for ordering cheques, either.

Check out their PC MasterCard for great rewards, too.

I remember overhearing this rule at a bank a while ago, and it really opened my eyes.

That having been said, even with the occasional mishap, using a credit card smartly and accumulating points is very rewarding. I charge about $2000/month to my PC MasterCard which gives me the equivalent in 1% back in free groceries. That's $240 in free groceries a year.

I guess I didn't realize this either! How confusing, and somewhat seemingly devious of them. I am sure it is in the fine print though :)

I guess it depends on which company you deal with. Rogers refused to cancel a service before 30 days of notice that they required.

The second charge should be taken care of. I had this happen to me before on a VISA from Royal Bank. I had to speak to the manager because the CSR refused to reverse the charge. I explained that I had always paid my bill on time and if they could not reverse this charge I would have no choice but to switch to a different bank.

Let's try this again as it doesn't look as though my comments were posted on my initial attempts...

Here in Ontario, I've heard good things about Teksavvy.
According to their web site, they service BC as well.

You might also want to read some ISP reviews at http://www.dslreports.com/gbu and http://www.dslreports.com/isplist?c=ca
